Thillai Nataraja Temple

The Thillai Nataraja Temple is located in Chidambaram, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the main Hindu gods, and hosts one of his most important forms - the cosmic dancer and God of Dance. The temple is located in a large, open courtyard and surrounded by four tall towers and numerous smaller shrines. Inside the temple, the temple has three sanctums, the intermediate one housing the images of Shiva's consort, Parvati. There are also several libations made in honor of Lord Shiva. The temple has a festival called Natyanjali, where devotees perform a dance before the statue of Shiva.
