The Basilica of St. Anthony

The Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, Italy is a stunning architectural and artwork marvel of the city. It is a major pilgrimage site for those devoted to St. Anthony and features the tomb of the beloved saint. Built in 1238, the Italian Renaissance design of the cathedral showcases a harmonious blend of Gothic, Romanesque and Byzantine motifs. Inside the basilica are the friary chapel, 13th‐century mosaics, ceiling frescoes of the artist Tiepolo, and the altarpiece of Palma il Vecchio.
