Sliabh League is an impressive natural geological formation and experience, a combination of the beautiful Atlantic views, jutting hills, and stunning cliff sides. Word of caution, it is highly exposed and can be treacherous in bad weather. The area around Sliabh League is rugged and remote, and packed full of ancient monuments and monuments that bear witness to centuries of Irish history. It is an ideal place to explore, but remember to leave the area as you found it and respect any access or warning signs. The main access point to Sliabh League can be found in the nearby Shanballybeg townland. From here, there are a number of trails leading up to the summit. Two of the more popular routes are the Slievetooey Loop, which starts in Shanballybeg and takes you over the top of the three heads, and the Bunglas Loop, which takes you around the base of the mountains. Sliabh League is a photographer's dream. On a clear day, the views from the top of the mountain are beyond breathtaking. But bear in mind that the weather can turn quickly in the Irish hills.
