Senbon Torii

Senbon Torii, or the Thousand Torii, is an iconic sight located in the Fushimi Inari Shrine, just outside of Kyoto’s city center. Each of the thousands of vibrant orange Torii gates span the entire length of a 4 km long path, leading away from the shrine and up the sacred Mount Inari. With each new gate, visitors can experience a unique mixture of Asian cultures and traditional religions, as the pathway leads through diverse gardens, nests of wild foxes, and majestic Buddhas.
