It is one of the most important historical monuments in Ostrava and is surrounded by stately parks and calm English gardens. The building was restored during the mid-1990s and it now houses the City Hall offices. It is worth taking a look around the building as it has some interesting features, such as a stained glass sky-light in the great hall and the large Ostrava city symbol crest beneath one of the main domes. The building is also a nice place to take in the views of the city and its surrounding countryside.
