Lake Bled is a stunning glacial lake in the northwestern region of Slovenia. It's one of the country's most popular tourist attractions and has been used as a filming location for movies such as The Chronicles of Narnia. The lake is 2,120 meters in length and 30 meters deep. It is situated at the foot of the Julian Alps, with the Karavanken Mountains to the north and the Bohinj Mountains to the south. The lake is well known for its islands, the only remaining natural lake island in Europe. On the lake is the gorgeous 17th century church of the Virgin Mary with 99 steps leading up to it. The lake is visited in summer by rowboats and in winter it ices over and is popular for ice-skating. The surrounding area is full of mountains, cliffs, and forests, offering great opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, mountain-biking, skiing, and climbing. Lake Bled can be experienced by boat, carriage rides, or by foot. It provides a tranquil atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature.
