Jordan Pond is a dreamy, secluded 3-mile-long glacial lake located in Mount Desert, Maine. It is a popular tourist destination surrounded by rocky mountains and a vast array of wildlife. The pathway along the east side of the pond is lined with old-growth hemlocks and provides stunning views of the lake, while the west side offers expansive views of the mountains. There are multiple points of interest near the lake, including a tiny pebble beach and several bubbling brooks. Popular activities in the area include fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and bird-watching. There are no restaurants or tourist amenities near the lakeshore, but there are restrooms and picnic tables available. A few trails in the area provide easy access to it and allow visitors to explore the nearby forest.
