Gyeongbokgung Palace

Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁) is the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty, located in present-day Jongno 1(il).2(i).3(sam).4(sa), South Korea. It was built in 1395, making it Korea's oldest palace. The palace grounds are vast and beautiful, and are surrounded by several unique buildings, such as the Geunjeongjeon, the throne hall; Gyeonghoeru, a royal banqueting hall; and Hyangwonjeong, a royal pleasure garden. The palace also houses the National Palace Museum, which contains an extensive collection of artifacts from the Joseon dynasty.
