Fraumünster

Fraumünster is a Gothic-style Catholic church located on the northwest corner of the scenic Lake Zurich in Switzerland's largest city, Zürich. Founded in 853, the church features five distinguished stained glass windows created by the 20th-century artist Marc Chagall. The building is distinguished by its large central tower and its bronze door, which dates back to the 14th century. Inside, visitors can view the Romanesque crypt, Baroque organ loft, and the chapel of St. Mauritius with its famous mosaic of Christ’s Last Supper. The roof of the church is covered with the contemporary Canvas of Creation by Swiss painter Thomas von Viital.
