Encontro das Águas

Encontro das Águas and Praia de Carapebus are special attractions located in the northern coast of the Rio de Janeiro State in Brazil. You can find them in the city of Balneário de Carapebus. Encontro das Águas means “meeting of the waters,” and it is the place where the salty sea water and the fresh river water coming from the mountains meet and flow to the shore.
