Christ Church Cathedral

Christ Church Cathedral is located in the heart of historic Dublin, in Ireland. Built in 1038 AD, it is the oldest and most important church in the country and an architectural masterpiece of Romanesque and Gothic styles. Though parts of the building have been added and removed over its long history, the Cathedral's original structure is mostly intact and open to visitors. Inside, visitors can explore the aisles, nave, and transept, as well as the crypt dating back to the 11th century. Climb one of the towers to look out over much of Dublin, find yourself surrounded by beautiful stained glass windows, and marvel at the fourteenth century cosmatesque-style mosaic pavement. With its ancient and imposing beauty and aura of silence, Christ Church Cathedral is certainly a spiritual experience.
