Bastion de San Antonio

The Bastion de San Antonio in San Juan, Puerto Rico is an impressive 6-level fort constructed in 1634 by Spanish conquistadors. This imposing structure sits inside El Morro, a 16th-century fortress that shields the San Juan Bay. It was built to protect the Spanish colony from attacks from hostile forces and is filled with emotive atmosphere. Visitors can explore the galleries, jails, armory, and period cannons. This strategical peak gives visitors remarkable views as far as Old San Juan and the city of San Juan itself.
