Basilica di Santa Maria dei Servi

The Basilica di Santa Maria dei Servi is a stunning Gothic style church dating back to the late 13th century located in the heart of Bologna, Italy. The church was built as a tribute to the Servite order of priests, who made their home in Bologna. The façade is a stunning combination of brickwork, marble and terracotta framed in white and black stone and topped with a roof of cotto tiles. The entrance is guarded by two imposing stone statues, various fretwork and oculi. Inside the church you can admire frescoes, angel sculptures on the ceilings and several altars dedicated to different saints. The side chapel gives you a gorgeous view of the city and its iconic buildings. The church is also a remarkable example of structural harmony, thanks to its beautiful arches and vaults that support the roof. A true masterpiece in Bologna!
