
The Monument to Peter I is a grandiose monument situated in Moscow, Russia. It was erected in honour of Peter the Great who was instrumental in reforming and modernizing the Russian Empire. The monument, commissioned by Emperor Alexander III, is built on a 28-meter-high pedestal and consists of a bronze equestrian statue of Emperor Peter I mounted on a 126-meter-diameter stone platform. The platform is surrounded by decorative ironwork and railings, statues of kneeled Cossack warriors, and four winged Lions. The monument has become a popular tourist attraction and is also used for ceremonial and military parades. The platform is a great spot for taking photographs and enjoying panoramic views of the Moscow's skyline.
