An elegant Baroque fountain ensemble in Peterhof’s Lower Park, this cascade features gilded steps that shimmer as water flows down. Commissioned by Peter the Great and completed during Empress Elizabeth’s reign, it was inspired by European palace gardens while maintaining a distinct Russian flair. Often less crowded than the Grand Cascade, it offers a peaceful spot to admire detailed sculptures and enjoy the surrounding greenery. Located near other famous Peterhof fountains, it’s easily accessible on foot or by tour, and provides plenty of photo opportunities and a tranquil respite from the bigger tourist attractions.
