Zytglogge

Zytglogge is one of the most iconic landmarks that Bern has to offer. Located in the ancient Old City, the Zytglogge is a medieval clocktower that dates back to 1218. The clock is still in operation today, and the dial displays the hour, minutes, and even seconds. It is also embellished with historic figures and symbolic movement, including a golden cockerel that crows at the top of the hour. The tower has served various purposes over the centuries and is topped with a Guard House with a beautiful terrace that offers stunning views of the city.
