Zurriolako Kai-Muturra is the seaward end of the breakwater beside Zurriola Beach, where the Urumea River meets the Bay of Biscay on the eastern side of central Donostia. Its exposed position gives a clear visual reading of the city’s Atlantic setting: surf rolls toward the broad beach, Monte Ulia rises beyond the shoreline, and the translucent cubes of the Kursaal mark the river mouth behind. The long, spare lines of the pier contrast with breaking water and the dense urban waterfront, while surfers, sea spray and changing cloud cover give the scene its characteristic movement. From the tip, views back toward the beach are especially recognizable for the layered combination of promenade, city blocks, sand and green headland.
