📍 China
China Zun, officially known as CITIC Tower, rises 528 meters above Beijing’s Central Business District in Chaoyang, making it the city’s tallest building. Its name and form refer to the zun, an ancient Chinese ceremonial wine vessel: a broad base narrows into a slender waist before opening outward again at the crown. This translation of a traditional bronze form into glass and steel gives the tower a recognizable silhouette within Beijing’s modern commercial skyline. Wider views reveal the full vessel-like profile, while the nearby angular CCTV Headquarters provides a striking architectural contrast to China Zun’s continuous curves.
