Yvoire Castle is a stunningly beautiful castle built in the 14th century, located in Yvoire, France on the southwestern shore of Lake Geneva. It has served as a strategic military position and an administrative seat for the Dannier Counts. The castle consists of the former keep and living quarters, the white gallery and chapel, and the trenches and gardens. The gardens have been recently restored and areas accessible to tourists include the formal French Garden, the Fountain Garden, and the new upper terrace. Inside the castle, the great banqueting hall is the only area open to the public. Yvoire Castle is a historical monument and considered one of the most beautiful medieval fortified towns in France. Visitors can enjoy enjoying the stunning views of Lake Geneva, the Alps and the ski resorts of Mont Blanc. A tourist information center is located in the castle courtyard. Yvoire has also received the designation of "One of the Most Beautiful Villages of France." Yvoire Castle is definitely a must-see destination for any visitor to France.
