Yuemei Wetland Ecology Park, one of Taiwan’s best sights, is a natural wetland preserved in northern Taiwan. The area extends over 16 hectares and is home to many different species of animals, plants and insects. Yuemei Wetland is also an important stopping point for migratory birds. This nature park includes a Discovery center, a suspension bridge, a “rehoming” environment for abandoned animals, a butterfly garden, and the largest bird sanctuary in Taiwan. Besides bird watching and feeding, visitors can experience eco-tours, explore the swimming pools, and take boat trips along the wetlands around Yuemei. A must-see spot is the Losheng Sanatorium, an old Japanese hospital and an example of Japanese colonial architecture. Besides its historical significance, Losheng is also a great spot to watch the sunsets for all those romantic looks!
