The Youghiogheny River located in Dunbar, United States, is an excellent spot for outdoor recreation and relaxation, with a 45-mile wild and scenic stretch of river and numerous opportunities for rafting, fishing, canoeing and kayaking. The area is part of the Great Allegheny Passage, a 320-mile multi-use path connecting Pittsburgh and Washington, DC, and part of the Potomac Heritage Trail. The river is part of the Youghiogheny River Basin and the surrounding creeks, mountains and scenic farms, valleys and meadows make for great sightseeing for all visitors. In addition, the area is home to some amazing wildlife, such as white-tailed deer, birds, mink, muskrat and beaver. Visitors can also find a taste of history with several historical sites and landmarks along the river, including the historic Matthew S. Quay House, built along the Youghiogheny in 1833.
