Yeni Camii is a 16th century Ottoman mosque located in Rüstem Paşa district of Istanbul, Turkey. Built by Ottoman Grand Vizier Rustem Pasha, this historical structure was designed by the renowned architect Mimar Sinan. The mosque has a large and impressive central dome, surrounded by four semi-domes and two smaller half-domes. The main prayer hall, with its high central dome and slender minarets, is quite an impressive sight. The interior is decorated with Ottoman-era tiles and beautiful carved wooden panels. The minbar of the mosque was also designed by Mimar Sinan and appears to be quite exquisite. The mosque can be reached by walking through Rüstem Paşa district. It is an interesting juxtaposition to explore the modern feel of the nearby neighborhoods while also connecting with this historical religious site.
