Yashimagahara Marshlands is a peaceful destination in Shimosuwa, Japan. It is known for its wetlands, rich wildlife, and spectacular mountain scenery. A nature lover's paradise, it is host to a great diversity of plant and animal species. Among these are black bears, red-crowned cranes, Eurasian wigeon ducks, and bird species from the Accipitridae family. There is a large lake, and adjacent to it is the footpath of Yashimagahara, where visitors may wander, passing through the wetlands and see expanses of wild grasses and spectacular marshland vegetation. It is truly a unique experience to exercise amongst the peacefulness and beauty of this natural habitat. Fishing is allowed and a permit can be purchased for more regulated activities. Yashimagahara Marshlands is a great place to hike, take in the beauty of the outdoors, and observe a variety of stunning wildlife.
