📍 China
Yaoguang Hall (瑶光殿) stands within the Jiuzhou Pool precinct of the Sui–Tang Luoyang City archaeological park, part of the former imperial garden beside Luoyang’s palace city. The present structure is a modern architectural interpretation rather than an intact ancient hall, helping convey the scale and formal character of the royal landscape used when Luoyang served as an imperial capital. Its layered tiled roofs, vermilion columns and elevated terraces create strong symmetry, while views across the pools connect the building with the garden’s water, islands and winding paths. Reflections and illuminated rooflines make the hall one of the precinct’s most recognizable compositions.
