Xhamia e Plumbit—literally the “Lead Mosque”—is an Islamic place of worship in Vlorë, Albania’s historic port city on the Adriatic coast. Its name refers to the lead roof coverings associated with mosque architecture across the Ottoman Balkans, though the title does not necessarily describe every surviving element of the building today. The mosque represents the Muslim strand of Vlorë’s layered religious and urban history, contrasting with the city’s modern waterfront character. Its minaret and geometric architectural lines provide the clearest visual markers; as an active sacred space, it should be photographed and visited with respectful dress and behavior.
