📍 From Entrance, Spain
The Xàtiva castle, located in Xàtiva, Spain, is an impressive example of late-medieval military architecture. Built in the 12th century, this castle served both as a fortress and a palace for the kings of Aragon. The castle was expanded in the 15th century and its towers and high walls were reinforced. It still stands tall today in the center of Xàtiva and is open to visitors year-round. Inside the castle are two beautiful courtyards and two palatial halls, with paintings, shields, sculptures and furniture. The castle also houses the Castle Restoration Workshop, where visitors can watch artisans at work restoring and displaying furniture, fabrics and other artifacts. Visitors can explore the castle grounds, climb the towers and enjoy stunning views of the city.
