📍 Poland
Wrocław Old Town Hall stands in the central block of the Rynek, the city’s vast medieval Market Square, beside the later New Town Hall. Developed in stages from the late 13th to the 16th century, it reflects Wrocław’s importance as a prosperous center of trade and municipal government. Its late-Gothic exterior is distinguished by steep gables, pinnacles, carved stone ornament and an astronomical clock, while the richly decorated southern façade rewards close study. Broad views across the square emphasize the building’s irregular silhouette against the colorful merchants’ houses, while tighter compositions reveal weathered textures, tracery and sculptural details. The interior now houses the Museum of Bourgeois Art, and the historic Piwnica Świdnicka occupies the cellars beneath it.
