📍 From Plac Solny, Poland
The Wroclaw Old Town Hall, located in the heart of the city of Wrocław in Poland, is a unique and fascinating sight to behold. Built in its current form in the late 1300s and early 1400s, it was the site of meetings of city officials, local markets and plays, and also served as a defensive tower against enemy invasions.
Today, the Old Town Hall (Stare Ratusz) serves as a museum, showcasing its rich history. Visitors can explore its archaeological collections, exhibits related to its medieval past and take a tour of the tower, complete with a view of the city skyline. At the centre of the Old Town Hall is its famous astronomical clock of 1580, with five dials that still work perfectly. The clock tells astronomical time, with the sun and moon features, day of the week and also used to warn inhabitants of impending storms and floods. Although the Old Town Hall is one of the oldest buildings in the city, it is covered in modern-day graffiti and street art - with many artists using its walls as their canvas.
