The 9/11 Memorial at the World Trade Center in the United States is a powerful display of respect and sorrow for the victims of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The two reflecting pools, located within the footprints of the Twin Towers, are comprised of 30-foot-deep waterfalls of water, the largest man-made waterfalls in the United States. The surrounding plaza contains monoliths with the names of all the victims inscribed along its edges. The 9/11 Memorial Museum houses artifacts from the attack and many multimedia presentations to honor the victims and commemorate the day’s events. This memorial is a beautiful and solemn place for travelers and photographers to visit and reflect, especially to mark the anniversary of the attacks.
