Workman lies in the centre of Bratislava, Slovakia and is home to the iconic Slovak National Uprising monument. The statue was unveiled in 1955 to commemorate the Slovak National Uprising of 1944. The monument consists of seven soldiers, representing the different branches of the Slovak resistance. It stands 27 meters high and is visible from across the city. On the lower deck, there are sculptures depicting the Third of May and the Partisan Oath - a powerful reminder of the history of this area. On the lower deck there is also a memorial tablet to remember the fallen soldiers and a chapel to remember the battle. Workman also houses a number of war memorials including The War Memorial of Solidarity, The Winged Monument, The Memorial for the Slovak National Uprising and The Chapel of Rožňava martyrs. Other attractions include The Museum of the Slovak National Uprising, The Military Museum and The Museum of Jewish Culture. This park is a major draw for visitors to Bratislava and is great for enjoying a peaceful stroll among the historical monuments.
