📍 Poland
Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza is a series of cascades on the Roztoka stream in Tatra National Park, east of Zakopane and beside the popular route from Palenica Białczańska to Morskie Oko. The stream drains the Valley of the Five Polish Lakes, breaking through granite steps in three principal falls known as Wyżni, Pośredni and Niżni. Their name, meaning “Mickiewicz’s Roaring Waterfalls,” honors Poland’s national poet Adam Mickiewicz. From the stone bridge, foaming water, dark rock and dense spruce form the recognizable scene; the flow is especially forceful during snowmelt and after heavy rain. The surrounding terrain is protected, so visitors should remain on marked paths.
