Williamsburg Bridge is a suspension bridge that connects Brooklyn to Manhattan in New York City. Opened in 1903, the bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time, and it still carries more subway, car, pedestrian and cycling traffic than any other bridge in the world. By day the bridge is an icon of the New York City skyline, and its caissons, concrete piers and steel wire ropes provide great photographic opportunities. Chased in lights, at night it's a mesmerizing display, reflecting on the East River below. Manhattan pedestrians can access the bridge from Delancey Street, or if you're coming from Brooklyn, head to South 5th Street.
