Willemstad, Curaçao’s capital, is arranged around Sint Anna Bay, the narrow harbor channel separating the historic districts of Punda and Otrobanda. Its UNESCO-listed center blends Dutch colonial planning and gabled façades with Caribbean colors, creating the distinctive waterfront of Handelskade. The floating Queen Emma Bridge links the two sides and swings open for ships entering the harbor, while the Queen Juliana Bridge rises dramatically behind the low historic skyline. Across the bay, pastel buildings, tiled roofs, arcades, and waterside reflections create layered compositions that change as vessels pass and the pontoon bridge moves.
