Located on the shore of the North Sea, Whitby Harbour West Lighthouse is a picturesque addition to the spectacular coastal town of Whitby, North Yorkshire. Constructed out of red brick and standing at 17 feet high, the lighthouse and its accompanying keeper’s residence were built in 1831 to protect the ships entering the harbor. Its current active lamp was installed in 1959 and still shines brightly today. Visitors to Whitby will no doubt be amazed by the serenity of the surrounding harbour and gazing out at the rolling waves of the North Sea. Be sure to bring your camera, as you’re sure to capture some beautiful shots.
