The Westturm is a magnificent stone watchtower situated on the North Sea island of Wangerooge in the German state of Lower Saxony. With its four storeys, the tower stands 22m tall and is easily viewable from most of the island's beaches. The Westturm grants stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape, consisting of rugged shores, sandy beaches, heathland, dunes, and salt marshes. On a clear day, it is possible to take impressive images of the nearby Langeoog Island, too. Visitors can also stand on the edge of the cliff surrounding the watchtower and enjoy the breathtaking views of the island, the sea and its vibrant nature. Inside the Westturm, the staircase to the top of the tower is surrounded by several large windows, offering a unique atmosphere. During the summer months, visitors may spot kite surfers and windsurfers taking advantage of the brisk North Sea breeze.
