Westerstaketsel is an iconic Belgian coastal viewpoint located on Blankenberge Beach. The view encompasses the North Sea in the east, the harbor of Blankenberge in the north, the harbor city of Ostend in the west, and the ancient city of Bruges in the south. The 19th-century Leopold Paviljoen, a two-story wooden lodge and the large Astrid park, is also included in the view. The most scenic way to get to the viewpoint is to take the footpath from the harbor side of the park and stair way up the dunes. It is a short but enjoyable walk. For the best view take a seat on one of the many benches and absorb the beauty of the Belgian coast.
