Westerheversand Lighthouse, located on the Eiderstedt Peninsula in Schleswig-Holstein, is an iconic landmark with distinctive red and white stripes. It offers spectacular photo opportunities, particularly at sunrise and sunset when the sky's colors reflect off the surrounding salt marshes. Access is via a scenic 2.5-kilometer walk from the parking area through the protected marshlands, so waterproof footwear is advisable. Photographers will appreciate the play of light on the tidal flats and the diverse birdlife in the region. The lighthouse, built in 1906, offers great angles from both near and afar, capturing its solitary yet stunning presence against the flat, open landscape. For an interior shot, tours are available but must be booked in advance.
