Mabul, off the coast of Sabah, Malaysia is home to one of the most unique sights in the world - Water Houses. These houses, which rest atop stilts, are homes to local Bajau fishermen, who live and sustain themselves off the sea. Since the homes are located in shallow waters and surrounded by coral reefs, they are fast becoming a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can explore the villages via boat or snorkel, to witness the unique lifestyle of these sea-faring people. Wildlife enthusiasts won't want to miss seeing manta rays, reef sharks, jawfish and clownfish here. For photographers, this is a dream spot to get up-close shots of a vibrant marine life.
