📍 From Inside, Thailand
Wat Rong Khun, commonly known as the White Temple, is a contemporary, unconventional Buddhist temple located in Pa O Don Chai, Thailand. Designed by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, its striking white color symbolizes the purity of Buddha, while the intricate glass mosaics embedded in the structure represent Buddha's wisdom. Photo-travelers will appreciate the detailed murals inside the main hall, which incorporate elements of pop culture and modern life, making them unique in traditional Buddhist art. The temple also features a striking bridge, representing the crossing over from the cycle of rebirth to the land of the Buddha. Remember to visit the "Golden Building," which serves as the restroom facilities and is lavishly decorated in gold, representing the individual's body, in contrast to the white, spiritual nature of the temple itself.
