
Wartturm is an 11th century tower located in Gelnhausen, Germany. Built as part of a chain of fortification for the local nobles, the tower was once used to defend the ancient town from the advancing armies of the neighbouring Barony. It can be found from a distance due to its distinct cylindrical shape, topped by a conical roof. The tower offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, which includes the nearby river Kinzig, the old buildings and the surrounding forests. Inside, the tower has a small museum and interactive displays, as well as a number of interactive games and activities. Visitors can also explore a section of the old fortifications that lie beneath the tower. The Wartturm is a great spot for visitors to explore the history and culture of medieval Germany, as well as a great place to take in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
