Wartburg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located on a steep hill above the town of Eisenach, in Thuringia, Germany. This historic fortress, founded in 1067, is a stunning example of medieval architecture. Visitors can explore the inner courtyard, the Knight's Hall, and the chapel, whose walls are decorated with beautiful frescoes. Photographs are not allowed inside the Castle, as one of its main attractions is the Wartburg Festival, a regular cultural event. From the heights of the castle, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Thuringian countryside and the town of Eisenach. The nearby Romanesque palace, the Georgenbrau, is also worth a visit, as well as the local beer gardens.
