Wadi Mujib, in Al Judayyidah, Jordan, is a spectacular area of canyons and gorges, made up of vivid walls of Jurassic sandstone, deep river canyons and awe-inspiring views of the Dead Sea. It is worth a visit just to be surrounded by the grandeur of this lovely scenery, ranging from an elevation of 420 meters to an elevation of -350 meters in the depths of the canyon – which makes it the lowestravreplaced nature reserve in the world. It is easy to access, and can even be done on a day trip from the nearby city of Amman. The main attractions of the area include hiking along the many canyons, swimming and cliff-jumping in the river, and of course, marveling at the stunning views. A word of caution, though, there is hardly any road infrastructure and the area is known for its hazardous conditions. A guide is a must before entering this place and all safety protocols should be strictly followed.
