Volcán Telica rises near Agua Fría in western Nicaragua, part of the Cordillera de los Maribios near León. Its active summit crater vents steam and volcanic gases, making the region’s volcanic character visible in the landscape. Around the crater, dark, fractured rock and pale mineral staining contrast with the greener slopes below. The drifting plume and uneven rim give Telica a distinctive silhouette, especially when the mountain is seen against an open sky.
