📍 Mexico
The views from Cerro del Obispado reveal Monterrey’s defining contrast: a dense modern city framed by the rugged peaks of the Sierra Madre Oriental. Rising just west of downtown, the hill overlooks the skyline, industrial districts, and the distinctive saddle-shaped Cerro de la Silla across the valley. The summit is marked by a monumental Mexican flag, while the nearby 18th-century Bishop’s Palace—now the Regional Museum of Nuevo León—recalls the hill’s strategic role during the 1846 Battle of Monterrey. Wide panoramas, layered mountains, and the flag moving above the city create the viewpoint’s most recognizable compositions, especially when low light gives the surrounding ridges greater depth.
