Villers Abbey is an ancient and spectacular site located in the municipality of Villers-la-Ville, in Belgium. Named after the Cistercians who had built it, this site was established by Norbert of Xanten in 1146 and is considered one of the most important abbeys in Europe. The abbey consists of two parts: a monastic complex, including several buildings from the Romanesque architecture, as well as a park located on a hill in the surroundings.

The abbey ruins are UNESCO listed and are an interesting testament of the history and architecture of Belgium. Visitors can explore the main hall, several chapels and cloisters, as well as some of the old stone arches that are still standing. The walls are decorated with numerous monastic motifs and beautiful stained glass windows. A wide variety of plants and trees can also be admired around the abbey. It is a beautiful place to wander around, appreciate some fine architecture and history, as well as admire the scenery.
