Villa romana dels Munts is the remains of a late Roman coastal estate on the outskirts of Altafulla, Catalonia, one of the better-preserved rural villas from the Roman period in the Tarragona area. The complex combines residential quarters, a peristyle courtyard and a bathing area, and is notable for surviving mosaic floors and the clear arrangement of rooms that show the contrast between formal living spaces and service areas. Photographically, the site offers tight textural shots of tessellated mosaics and dressed stone, long axial views along colonnaded walkways, and a sense of scale in low walls that outline the original room plan against the scrubby Mediterranean plain; midday sun throws crisp shadows that emphasize geometry, while the horizontal coastal light softens surfaces later in the day. The ruins sit in an open archaeological clearing adjacent to the town.
