Villa Farnese and Palazzo Farnese a Caprarola are two Renaissance-era Renaissance villas located in Caprarola, Italy. The famed Italian architect Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola designed both these structures. Built in the 1560s for Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, Villa Farnese is a sprawling estate and its garden, with statuary and fountains, is said to be one of Vignola's most famous works. The Palazzo Farnese, located next to the villa, was also designed by Vignola and features a dramatic Spanish-style roof. Both sites are part of the larger Farnese estate that has been owned by the family since 1602. Visitors marvel at the stunning architectural details, especially the stately arches located all around the villa's main entrance. The grand garden features terraced gardens, cypress trees, fountains, and several classical sculptures. The views from the villa and the palazzo overlook the surrounding Campagna region, making it a perfect spot for travelers and photographers to enjoy some stunning Italian sights.
