๐ Iran
Tang-e Vashi is a river-cut gorge near Jelizjand and Firuzkuh, on the eastern side of Tehran Province beneath the Alborz ranges. Its landscape shifts from open, dry highland to a narrow corridor of dark rock, where steep walls frame the stream and emphasize the scale of the canyon. A notable cultural feature is the Qajar-era rock relief associated with Fath-Ali Shah, carved with a royal hunting scene and set directly into the gorge wall. Photographs here are defined by layered ridgelines, rugged textures, cool water against sunlit stone, and the contrast between broad mountain views and compressed canyon passages. Reaching the inner gorge commonly involves walking through sections of the stream, so access varies with water conditions.
