📍 From Drone, United States
The Franklin Mountains form a rugged north–south spine through El Paso, separating major sections of the city and rising abruptly from the Chihuahuan Desert. North Franklin Peak reaches 7,192 feet, giving the range a commanding presence above streets, neighborhoods, and open desert. Much of the landscape lies within Franklin Mountains State Park, where exposed reddish-brown rock, tilted strata, sparse shrubs, and ocotillo reveal the region’s arid geology. From across El Paso, the ridgeline creates a recognizable skyline; low-angle morning and evening light deepens its folds and casts long shadows across the slopes.
