From Aïn Soltane in northern Algeria, the Atlas appears as a succession of ridges rising beyond the cultivated plains and settlements of Aïn Defla Province. These mountains belong to the Tell Atlas, the Mediterranean-facing chain that shapes much of the country’s northern landscape. Their overlapping profiles create a strong sense of depth, especially when haze softens the more distant slopes. Seasonal contrasts are part of the view: cooler, wetter months bring greener fields and hillsides, while the dry season shifts the foreground toward muted gold and earth tones.
